Visit Us This Week! What to Expect
Warm Welcome: When you walk into the sanctuary of Landmark Baptist Church, you’ll be greeted by a friendly usher or hostess ready to help you find your way. Visitors are given a visitor card to fill out and place in the offering plate so we can have a record of your visit and reach out with gratitude for joining us.
A Friendly Congregation: Landmark Baptist Church has a family atmosphere filled with smiles and warmth. We make every effort to ensure guests feel comfortable and genuinely welcomed. Above all, we want you to find a caring church family that loves the Lord and loves people — because every one of us was once a first-time visitor, too.
Old-Fashioned Worship: Landmark Baptist Church is a conservative, fundamental Baptist church founded on the unchanging Word of God. Our services are traditional in spirit — heartfelt and reverent, never stiff or formal.
Practical Preaching: Our pastor brings messages directly from the Word of God — fresh, clear, and relevant for daily living. Christ is always exalted, and every message challenges the listener to follow God’s truth faithfully.
The King James Bible: All preaching, teaching, and classes are conducted from the King James Bible, which we believe to be the preserved Word of God in English.
Traditional Conservative Music: We love inspiring, God-honoring music that prepares the heart for worship. You’ll enjoy a rich mix of hymns, choruses, and spiritual songs that lift up Christ and encourage His people.
Conservative Dress: We encourage our members to wear their “Sunday Best,” reflecting reverence and modesty in God’s house. You’ll find men in dress shirts or suits and ladies in skirts or dresses. Visitors, please come as you are — we’re simply glad to have you worship with us.
Our Mission
Landmark Baptist Church exists to glorify God through reverent worship, faithful preaching, and compassionate outreach — encouraging every believer to live out the truth of God's Word in daily life.
Our Values
We believe in the authority of Scripture, the power of prayer, the importance of family, and the call to love others as Christ loves us. Faith, compassion, and community define how we serve and worship together.
Our History
Landmark Baptist Church began in 2011 as a small gathering of believers meeting in the Woodruff Community Center. Just eleven months later, God allowed the church to be officially chartered — and He has continued to bless and grow this ministry ever since.
Our Pastor
Pastor Joey Clark
Saved Young — Pastor Joey Clark was saved at age 4 at the Peach Bowling Alley in Greer, South Carolina while waiting in the car on his father to finish bowling. After hearing the song, "Jesus is Coming Soon," on the radio, Joey came under conviction and began to question his mother about salvation. She explained the gospel message to him, and Joey accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour.
Called to Youth Ministry — In November 1992, Pastor Joey began working with young people at Bible Baptist Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina. His pastor at the time, William Cole, asked him to take the senior high youth group. He took the group, but was not yet fully surrendered to Christ. After a year and a half, he attended a youth conference at Northside Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina called "Youth Alive '94." On June 14, 1994, under the preaching of Dr. Johnny Pope ("What Could the Boy Have Done With His Lunch"), Joey totally surrendered his life to the Lord and to work in youth ministry.
Years of Service — After serving in the youth ministry at Bible Baptist Church from 1992–1999, Pastor Joey became Youth Director at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina, serving until 2001. From 2001–2004, he served as Youth Director at Gray Court Owings Baptist Church and then returned to Bible Baptist Church in Simpsonville to pastor the Teen Church. After 15 years of working with young people, it was through the nursing home ministry at The Springs Retirement Home that God gave him the desire to pastor. Pastor Joey made that surrender and call public on May 11, 2007.
Planting Landmark Baptist Church — In February 2011, Pastor Joey and his family stepped out on faith to plant a church in Woodruff, South Carolina. On May 17, 2011, God opened that door, and Landmark Baptist Church held its first service in the Woodruff Community Center. On April 22, 2012—eleven months later—Landmark held its charter service and became an official Fundamental Baptist church. Since that time, God has blessed, and the congregation has continued to grow.
